Members Only Mailing Lists

The Los Angeles Astronomical Society maintains two mailing lists, both watched over by Dan Dickerson, and the LAAS secretary to whom all questions & complaints should be sent. Formerly run by "egroups", they were bought out by Yahoo, which now hosts both lists. You can join either list by going to the webpages linked below. However, you will have to register with Yahoo to set up a Yahoo account, if you haven't already (there is no charge for this).

In both cases, LAAS membership will be verified before you are placed on the list. Sometimes this will result in a rejection notice to new members, if you are too quick on the draw for us. If that happens, contact the LAAS secretary for further instructions.

The General List
This is a general mailing list intended for members to share experiences, to set up impromptu star parties, discussion of current astronomy events in the news, sell their telescopes (!), or whatever. This is the "chat" list. We anticipate that this may be a relatively high traffic list.

Announcements List
This list is for official announcements of LAAS activities only. There will be no cross talk, members cannot send to the list. All members should join this list, to receive announcements for star parties and meeting speakers, etc. This will be a low traffic list.
