The Telescope

The Ford Observatory telescope was originally owned by LAAS member Claude Carpenter. The telescope was housed in Claude’s observatory in Menifee Valley in Riverside County. The mirror was originally made by John Mellish and refigured by Tom Cave in 1950-1951.
